This week in Enterprise Agents ๐ฐ
New professions are emerging, AGI is now "when" not "if", and you lost all your money.
Sharing real-world enterprise AI use cases, straight from conversations with early adopters actually deploying AI and enterprise agents. No fluff. Just whatโs working, whatโs not, and whatโs next in AI & Agents for business. ๐บ
Another fun-filled week in Enterprise Agent land. Here is everything you missed while watching all of your money in your 401k disappear:
McKinseyโs latest State of AI report shows that over 75% of companies now use AI in at least one business function. However, only 28% have CEO-level oversight of those efforts. As the tech matures, so does the org chart. New roles like Head of AI and Prompt Engineer are moving from novelty to necessity.
Speaking of new roles, Aaron Levie, CEO of Box, captured a common (and misplaced) reflex: every time AI evolves, people panic about job loss. But weโve been here before. Like every major wave of tech, this one will disrupt and create. The winners wonโt just be automators, theyโll be the ones who spot the new roles emerging in real time.
Hereโs a real world example of one of these new roles from the team at Basis. Theyโre looking for Agent Managers to solve a real problem for real people.
The New York Times explored a question thatโs starting to feel less theoretical: what if AGI actually is within reach? Experts are no longer just measuring progress by model size, theyโre noticing a shift in capability. The story captures a tone thatโs more โwhenโ than โif,โ and itโs backed by serious voices in the field.
A new project called AI 2027 is making the rounds, and itโs raising some tough questions. Co-authored by former OpenAI researcher Daniel Kokotajlo, the report lays out scenarios for how AGI and artificial superintelligence (ASI) could unfold this decade.
โWe predict that the impact of superhuman AI over the next decade will be enormous, exceeding that of the Industrial Revolutionโฆ It is strikingly plausible that superintelligence could arrive by the end of the decade.โ
The full AI 2027 site is worth checking out. Very well done.
Enjoy the blood bath in the market this week! ๐ฑ
I started this newsletter because I am frustrated by the lack of tangible Enterprise AI use cases in the market.
I have the opportunity to speak to hundreds of tech and systems leaders and fundamentally believe that AI and Agents will change the way businesses operate. My goal is to help share how.
