This week in Enterprise Agents ๐ฐ
Everything is Ghibli, OpenAI endorses MCP, and AI fraud hits GTM SaaS
Sharing real-world enterprise AI use cases, straight from conversations with early adopters actually deploying AI and enterprise agents. No fluff. Just whatโs working, whatโs not, and whatโs next in AI & Agents for business. ๐บ
Another fun-filled week in Enterprise Agent land. Here is everything you missed while Ghibli-fying all of your pictures:
It wouldnโt be a week in AI without some controversy. This week the tea came from AI SDR startup, 11x. Techcrunch published a scathing report accusing a16z- and Benchmark-backed 11x has been claiming customers it doesnโt have. 11x looked like a rocket shipโhuge funding, flashy growth numbers, and bold claims about revolutionizing sales with AI SDRs. But behind the curtain: inflated ARR, buggy tech, fake customer logos, and a toxic culture thatโs now unraveling fast. Here are some great takes on the 11x debacle from GTM folks I respect:
Vibe coding? How about Vibe Marketing. This week, OpenAI launched Images in Chat. Most of the internet just spent time turning every meme ever created into anime, but there were some really impressive examples of how this advancement could be used in business to generate ads with very simple prompting. This brings up a debate on what this means for professionals in creative roles.
Last week, I mentioned that MCP faced an uphill battle due to Big Techโs closed models and incentives still stand in the way. However, OpenAI endorsed MCP this week and made MCP available in their agents SDK which is a step towards accepting MCP as a standard protocol to connect Agents with tools.
Here is a bullish take on MCP: Why MCP Won
Knowledge Agents were one of the earliest B2B AI use cases to see real traction, but the category is quickly becoming commoditized. Enterprise search vendors like Glean gained early momentum, but the differentiation is fading fast. This week, OpenAI announced Knowledge in beta for ChatGPT Team customers, bringing real-time access to internal knowledge directly from connected tools like Google Drive:
I didnโt intentionally set out to make this all about OpenAI but seems like they' were cooking this week.
I started this newsletter because I am frustrated by the lack of tangible Enterprise AI use cases in the market.
I have the opportunity to speak to hundreds of tech and systems leaders and fundamentally believe that AI and Agents will change the way businesses operate. My goal is to help share how.
